Pray for MaryGrace

Andrea asked me to please add her friend MaryGrace to the prayer request list. 
The following is copied from Audrea's post.  Please pray and visit her and grab her button.
On Monday morning I received a heartbreaking call about my good friend, MaryGrace. She was hospitalized after severe complications in ICU/critical condition. I began contacting every prayer group I knew and asked them to pray for a miracle. Today, I come to you asking for continued prayer, but also praising GOD for her progress since Monday. She is speaking and moving her limbs. Please continue to storm the heavens with me for continued miracles in and through MaryGrace's life.

Update on prayer requests

Helen isn't suffering anymore, she went home to be with the Lord last night.  But the family is taking it really hard.  She was the rock and cornerstone of the family.

Janet is still in the hospital, they were hoping she would be moved to rehab.  But her white blood count and plalets are very low and she has an infection.

Prayer Requests

Most of ya'll will probably read this on my other blog, but for those that only follow this one.
I was planning on doing a blogoversary post today, but have been so overwhelmed this week by the different ones that I have heard about that needs prayers.
My niece's step-dad (Dave) went to the hospital about a week ago for severe pain and they found out he has colon cancer.  They have ran more tests and it has spread to his liver, spine, pelvic bone, and tail bone and is in stage 4.  He is very young with 3 children ages 2, 4 and 8, and his step-daughter (my niece) that's 13.  This is the niece that lost her real Dad (my brother) three years ago.
But more importantly than his healing is his salvation. 
Then a friend of mine, her Mom  (Janet) went in the hospital about a week ago for pneumonia and they have found out that she has lung cancer.  They have tested her and it hasn't spread so they have her on chemo treatments.
Last but not least I just got an email from a cousin of mine and her Grandmother (Helen) is in the hospital not doing good at all.  She didn't go into any details just said that the Doctors says she's at the end.
But as we all know the Doctors doesn't have the last word.  God does and I know he can still perform miracles.
But please keep these in your prayers:  Dave, Janet, and Helen.

Prayer Please

I'm sorry I haven't updated before now, not sure where the time is going these days.
Linda, my mother-in-law had hernia surgery Tuesday and seemed to be doing good, was sitting up talking that night.   Wednesday afternoon she became non-responsive and was put in the ICU.  Yesterday as she came around she said it was difficult to see.
Then this morning we got a phone call that sometime during the night she had had a stroke.  So they have her on a respirator to help her breath.  Scott rushed up there and says it's like deja vu of what we went through with Chris this summer. 
I will  keep you updated as I know more of what is going on.

I just have to Praise Him!!!!!

First the praise.  Chris went back to the throat specialist yesterday and his swallowing is at 100%.  The speech therapist told him he could eat anything he wanted to just take it slow with no distractions.
In the two weeks he has been here he has went from 114 to 131 pounds.  The doctor was very impressed.  I can see other changes in Chris, yesterday instead of saying that he was lucky, he said I'm blessed.  Also Monday a friend of his which happens to be a girl was on the phone and apparently she was talking seductively to him.  He told her that he had went to church on Sunday and adultry was a sin and he wasn't doing that anymore.  His language has changed, he slips up once in a while, but it's just so amazing at the work God is doing in his life.  He actually asked to go to church last night.  Our Bible study on Wednesdays has been on prayer, and Bro. Will looked at Chris and told him God isn't finished with you yet.  Your here for a purpose.  The devil tried to destroy you, but God had other plans.  If we had been in a pentecostal church there would probably been some shouting.  :)
Chris is in traffic court this morning he was given 3 tickets.  2 of which are minor (failure to yield right of way, and no seatbelt).  But the third one is a DUI, second offense while on probation.
We're praying God's will to be done, but in my heart I want him here with us.  God has started a work in him and He isn't done.
I will update the outcome later today.

My Mother-in-law Linda is having surgery in a couple of weeks to have a hernia removed .  I will let ya'll know later the exact date.

Prayer for Jennifer (cervical cancer) Elizabeth (sudden loss of husband)

Kathy  from Reflections by Kathy has asked that her youngest son's girlfriend (Jennifer) be added to the prayer list.  She is scheduled to meet with a doctor for a surgical consultation in North Carolina tomorrow afternoon(Friday).  It’s a seven hour drive to get there.  Please pray for her, her dad, and Kathy's son as they are on the road traveling Friday and Saturday.   Please  pray that she will get a surgery date!  She is only 23 and has cervical cancer.   She also lost her Mother last month.  So she's carrying quite a bit right now.  But God is the great Physician and healer, and also the comforter.


Elizabeth at zizzie happenings lost her husband suddenly and unexpectedly Tuesday.  Please pray for her and the family.  Death is hard but even harder when it's unexpected.   He  was only 43 years old and they had only been married for about 8 years.

Update on Chris

Monday they thought that when they would take the tubes out and do a tracheotomy.  Because the tubes could over time rub a hole in his esophagus.
Scott is working out of town this week so he called the hospital to check on his progress.  He then called me and I had to share the good news with all of ya'll that have been praying for him.  They have taken Chris off the respirator, and sedation.  If he keeps progressing the way he has this week he should be out of Neuro ICU by the weekend.
God is so good.  He is truly performing miracle after miracle in Chris's life.  We stand amazed and so thankful for each and every answered prayer.

Update on Chris

I'm sorry it has taken so long for an update but there wasn't much change until today.  Scott went up there this morning and Chris opened his eyes.  Scott asked him if he knew it was his Dad to squeeze his hand and he did. Then he told him you know I love you and Chris nodded.
 He's not off the respirator yet because of the pneumonia and a bacterial infection. But he's making progress. God is so awesome.  The nurse today was the same one as Saturday and she doesn't want him uncomfortable because of the tubes.  So after that she sedated him again. 
Scott has had to go back to work this week.  But after his visit today he felt alot better about it.  He will see him again Friday.  If I hear of any progress before then I will let everyone know.
Prayers are definetly being answered.   Thank ya'll so much for the prayers and encouraging words.

Update on Chris: Now he has pneumonia

I am trying to update everyday.  By the time we got home last night a storm had come through and we were without electricity until almost midnight.  I barely know when my head hits the pillow, until the sun comes up.
Chris now has pneumonia so they had to resume the sedation and respirator to full dosage.  His breathing became labored last night so he's not breathing on his on as well as he was when we left yesterday.
The doctor just considers it a minor setback.  No reduction in sedation or respirator until the pneumonia clears up.
Please continue to pray for him.  Also please pray for Scott he is physically exhausted from driving two hours there and back everyday.
Thank ya'll so much for the prayers, and the encouraging words. 

Update on Chris

They began weaning him off the sedaton and respirator yesterday.  By the time we left yesterday afternoon he was at only 50% sedation and was breathing mostly on his on.  The doctors are optimistic that he will come out of it by Sunday or Monday.   He's gagging on the tubes down his throat but that's good that means he can feel them down there.  He was moving his head, arms, and legs when we left.
They still don't know if his motor skills were effected until he's completely out of sedation. 
God has truly answered our prayers.  It is so amazing how he works in even the smallest of ways.
Scott and I was sitting in the ICU family room in between visiting hours.  A complete stranger began talking to us.  Telling us that he was waiting for his wife that was in therapy.   He wrote down Chris's name and said he would be praying for him.  Then he shook Scott's hand and said Jesus wanted me to tell you that He loves you and he has it all in control.
Thank ya'll so much for all the prayers.  We have felt such peace all week because of the prayers that has been said in our behalf.

Update on Chris's condition

There is no change in Chris's condition. There's no decrease in the swelling on his brain, but theres no increase either.  Other than possibly some pneumonia trying to develop.
We will know more about any effect to his motor skills when the swelling on the brain goes down and they can bring him out of sedation.   He won't be out of critical condition until then.

Update on Chris

Chris is in stable but critical condition.  He is in ICU in a hospital in Macon.  There is severe head trauma but no paralysis.  The next 72 hours will be crucial of determining the outcome.  I'm going up there first thing in the morning and will keep ya'll updated as much as possible.  Thank ya'll so much for your prayers.  Ya'll will never know how much they mean to us.                             

URGENT PRAYER REQUEST

Scott just got a phone call that his oldest son Chris has been in an auto accident this morning.  The details are sketchy, but they are saying he may not make it.   His son lives about 2 hours north of us, but Scott is out of town working again this week.  So he's at least three hours away from him.  Please pray for Scott's safety and that it won't be as bad as they think.  But most importantly please pray for Chris's salvation.  As far as we know he's not ready to meet the Lord if it is his time to go.  Will keep ya'll up to date as much as possible.  But if I go up there I may not have access to the internet.

Prayer Requests Update

A couple of weeks or so ago I blogged about a couple of new requests.  I just wanted to update them.
Amy that has 2nd and 3rd degree burns on her hand is doing great.  Her husband was able to come home for three weeks from Iraq to help her.

Inez that had just been diagnosed with lung cancer passed away Wednesday night.  The family is taking it really hard.  The comforting thing is that the 35 plus years I knew her she was a wonderful christian lady.  She was always smiling, and always a kind word about everyone.  Just remember them in your prayers in the coming days. 

As for as my job-hunting.  I still haven't found a job.  It's hard to believe that school starts back in five weeks.  The summer goes by way to fast. 

And to add to the list also.  Makayla pulled a muscle in her neck yesterday.  She's fine as long as she takes motrin.  But it will be a few days before all the pain goes away.

That about sums up what is going on around here.

New Prayer Requests

A friend of mine (Amy) burned her left hand over the weekend in hot cooking oil.   She has 2nd and 3rd degree burns and will be at the hospital today having it scrubbed.  She has five children under the age of 10, and her husband is overseas serving in the Army. 

Also I found out last week a childhood friend of mine her mother (Inez) has lung cancer.  Their not sure yet what stage it is in.  But we are all devastated.  She was like a second mother to me during my teen years.  Either I was at their house or my friend (Vera) was at mine. 

Sometimes it is so hard to ask prayer for ourselves.  But I need God's help in finding a job.  That is one reason I have been under so much stress lately.  It's the summer and I would like to be enjoying it with my kids.  But there are underlying circumstances beyond my control that is forcing me to find a job.  I know there is nothing though that we go through that He can't carry us through.    He is with us no matter what the circumstance may be.  Whether it's the feelings of betrayal, bitterness, rejection, and hurt.   He is there with us.

Update on Shawn

For the latest update on Shawn  (my neice's husband)  Brandi  has wrote an update on her blog.  I can't thank ya'll enough for all the prayers.  As of now he is still in ICU, and has a long road of recovery ahead.  But it could have been alot worse.  It's amazing at what God is doing in their lives because of this, and what He will continue doing in the days ahead. 

Urgent prayer requests

Andrea  from Arise To Write emailed me of an urgent prayer request and a prayer button for Amden.  Please add Amden's button to your blog and be in prayer for him.  He's Andrea's nephew that was born on Monday and has been diagnosed with downs sydrome.  I've added the button to my blog but  it doesn't gie you the code.  Please go to Andrea's and grab it and add it to yours also.  But most of all pray for little Amden, that the tests tomorrow will show no downs syndrome.
Also Andrea's daughter-in-law's (Jennifer)  estranged father has been killed in a tragic accident in another state.  This is another difficult situation. He has not been a part of her life. He was in and out of jail and lived homeless for some time. Please also pray for Jennifer. She has some tough decisions to make regarding his body, her siblings, etc. She is only 23 years old. Her mother abandoned her as a small child and she has buried her grandparents who raised her. She belongs to Doug and I, now. We promised her grandmother on her death bed that we would always be here for her. I thank each of you for faithfully praying for my family, extended family, and all those I love!

Prayer Requests

As most of ya'll know my step FIL(Dave)  has been in and out of the hospital alot lately.   He's been back in there for about a week this time.  He had begun radiation treatments and even a couple of chemo treatments.  But he can't handle the treatments for now.  Saturday he was diagnosed with e-coli.  And then yesterday (Sunday) he conplained of chest pains.  It has now been determined that he has had a heart attack and a decision has to be made whether or not to do a heart catherization.  Please pray for God's will and strength for both he and my MIL (Linda).  They have both been through alot physically in the last six months.

Also please remember the Groover family.  This is a family that attends the same church as we do.  Linda Groover's grandaughter (Amy) had a baby girl  on February 4th and the baby only lived for an hour.  Then on February 7th Linda's brother had a grandson born that lived only two days, finally on February 11th Linda's sister had a grandson (Caleb) to be born and he has been transported to another hospital about two hours away with respiratory problems.    It's been alot for one family to go through in a lifetime much less in one week.  And has now been diagnosed with cerebal palsy.

Update on Linda (MIL)

Linda my MIL  came home from the hospital yesterday.  She's on blood thinner shots twice a day for two weeks, on coumadin for 6 months while it dissolves the clot, and white compression stockings.  She wanted me to tell ya'll how much she appreciates the prayers.  It means so much to us to know there are such caring people out there.  Thank ya'll so much.
Also in case ya'll haven't noticed on my sidebar.  William with prostate cancer had check-up on Monday and has been declared cancer-free.  Surgery only, no treatments needed.
God is so awesome in answering prayers.
I've also added Beth's husband, (Jimbo) he's in India on a mission trip.  Please pray for him and his group for protection while they are there and bring them home safely.

As always if you have a prayer request you need added please let me know.  Also if you would like to be added to the prayer chain you can also let me know.  That way when there's an urgent request I can email all those on that list for immediate prayers.

Urgent Prayer Request

My Mother in law (Linda) called me and said she had went to the doctor for the pain she was having in her legs.  They sent her for an ultrasound on them.  She has now been admitted to the hospital for blood clots in her leg and put on blood thinner.  This is the same one that just came out of the hospital right after Thanksgiving from having reversal surgery for diveriticulitis.  Just got the IV out of her arm last week for the infection she had. 
Also please continue to pray for Dave her husband (my step FIL)  he began radiation last Friday and seems to be taking it okay. 

Also when she first called me asking me to pray for there not to be any blood clots.  I wondered who I could email that would start praying immediately.  I did email a few that I knew would. 
So what I'm trying to say is I would like to start a prayer chain.  If your interested in being on it just leave me a comment or email.  Then when you or anyone has an urgent request email me and I will send it out to those that are on the prayer chain list.
